This work positions layers of mixed colors ‘in different concentrations’, dominated here by placements of burnt sienna at left and right. Other brush strokes are built up along with amorphous forms that move ‘in different directions’. Everything is controlled by luminous stretches of built-up brush strokes, aided by crumpled acrylic skins. A luminosity is radiated which Cano always favors: ‘it’s like drinking light with a straw’. Otherwise, glimpses of raw canvas reinforce these crafted innovations.
