Opus 408, “Pi-8”

This striking scheme of colored slats of varied colors, topped by a spray of floral-like skins with shimmering white dots, is painted in acrylic on poplar with its wood-grain visible – all of which suggests pure aesthetic intentions.  But as Cano states, he has chosen to revisit the concept of Pi.

It is done with colors of the rainbow in systematic order, to illustrate the first 8 digits of Pi,  since ‘it is reassuring that relationships are constant’.
