Within this rare (for Cano) horizontal orientation, as applied to a flower and vase motif, we encounter a wide rectangular arrangement of large blossoms and angled stems in a transparent glass vessel. The massed flowers almost crush one another in their ‘eagerness to be seen – most especially owing to an aura of paint flecks hovering above them. There is a stark contrast with earth tones behind and silver-lined black frame. The “JJ” given recognition here is a staff colleague gifted in such staging.
